USED to be Future Farmers of America; sometime in the '80s, the organization became National FFA Organization. I dare say that fewer than 1% of the members will actually become "farmers". When I was a member in the late '50s/early '60s, boys (only) who took Vo-Ag in high school were automatically members of the FFA. In my rural school with about 600 students, probably 20-25% of the boys were members. In a county of about 25,000, there were only 2 factories; it was almost totally agricultural. In my graduating class of 110, only 2 of us went on to farm for a living.
