Don't take everything so literally, in the last election NC was a blue state and I am working harder now than I was then just to keep my head above water, so I know exactly what you are saying.
That said, look at the maps. Most of the oil fields are red, many, many major manufacturing areas are red, most of the farming areas are red, and on, and on. True there are many folks, such as yourself, in the 'blue' states, that work just as hard as the rest of us. Regardless of the color of a state on an election map, it's still a shame that the voices of the real people who are working their a$$es off, trying to stay ahead, and doing our best to contine to build an America to be proud of once again, are silenced so effecively by those from the larger cities that have no clue where this country came from, where it needs to go, and ultimately have no clue what real work is like.
