I think you're secretly delighted to keep your scapegoat for another four years. If the Robot had been elected, he would still have been stuck with a dysfunctional Congress. It's possible he could have convinced enough of his party members to rescind their Grover Norquist pledges so they could get some work done, but I doubt it.
