The JD 145A would not be any different as far as clearance. You would need to get into the JD 1350-1450 to get much better clearance.
I think the White/Oliver plow pulls easier and lays the ground out smoother. I have owned JD and White. I currently have a set of White 548 and like how they work.
Models that are usually auto reset are the White 508/588 or JD 2500-2600. Even within that models the auto reset is an option. So you will have to check each one out to see how it is set up.
