You have to be patient with propane if you don't have a pump! This morning I tried something new. We have an old 30# that we use on a deer stand, took 10 years to use it up, it has the old valve, and I'm not spending the money on a new valve and re-certification. I made up a 6 foot hose with pal fittings on both ends. I set the 30 on the ground at the bottom of an outside stairway, and a full, warm 20 upside down as far up the stairs as the hose would reach. about 10# transferred quickly (half hour) and then I vented a little vapor out of the 30 and in a couple hours I had put 15# in the 30! I was happy with that and it will last us for years and then I will do it again.
