I went out to feed the 7 month old pups this morning and noticed blood on one's front shouler and around his ear. I brought him in and got him cleaned up and noticed a large inflamation below his ear. I thought he got in a fight with his brother, but he was fine. Plus he's lighter weight than the one hurt. Also beagles almost always go for the ears, not under. Took him to the vet and she said it was definitely two punture bites from something with a lot of bacteria in its mouth. I wonder if a raccon got in the kennel looking for left-over dogfood. They had to do surgery to get his wound cleaned up and he'll have a drain tube for two or three days. Any thoughts?
