Our family has been in the farm machinery business, and farming for over a century. Farmers are their own worst enimies. There have been many attempts to unite farmers into organizations such as the NFO, but as soon as a "better offer", or some one who would buy their product for a premium, while others were dumping their produce in defiance: they bailed and rendered the cause useless. There are some local Co-ops here and elsware, that have been sucessful, in selling their produce at a premium, based on quanity and quality, and buying in bulk to get a reduced price on inputs. The old saying goes, "United we stand- Divided we fall" Most farmers are Rebles (not an insult), but have never been able to unite in a common cause and follow through with their beliefs. The closest that farmers have come as a united group is the National Farm Bereau orginization. Loren, the Acg.
