Agree shotgun - our case 12 gauge double barrel loaded with 4 bird shot mixed with bb's. Taught the wife how to drop the two shells in, move the safety, point at the belt buckle and pull the triggers. Dont want to worry about shooting a handgun or slug shot and it going through the wall into the nieghbors house. Easy to load, no need to keep a loaded gun, can load easy in the dark. Second favorite is the 870 pump, for the reason everyone says, the nice sound it makes when chambering a round
