I usually don't reply much to this stuff but i guess I'll give my 2 cents in on this.
as a Sears repair tech for the last 7 yrs and specializing in laundry products i will tell you this
Ge: same machine that's been made for the last 50 yrs but is all computerized now. they have electronic trans and computer controlled motor. more or less a 2 yr machine.
Frigidaire: same as GE but worse. they have many issues in washer and dryers.
Whirlpool/Maytag/Jennaire/kitchen aid: all made by the same company, used to be the best machine on the market, i mean they made Sears for 30 yrs. now, well there made almost all in Mexico and assembled here. they only make the low end washer and dryers for Sears Kenmore. we typically rebuild there washers within a year of owning them. they have really gone down hill in the last 3 yrs.
bosh: high dollar, not many issues but we don't see many of them either.
Samsung: all a Samsung is, is a rebuilt redesigned Maytag. they redesigned the Maytag that put Maytag out of business and have had good success. probably the number 2 machine on the market. and they do have some ties to the whirlpool dryers now.
LG: The number one machine on the market hands down, they have less problems then most all company, when they do have a issue there fast to fix it and get the issues dissolved, easy to work on and cheap to fix. They also make all the high end Kenmore's that sears sells.
One nice thing of my job is sears sells every brand and we have to be able to work on everything.
