I lived in NY till I was 50 retired from a state job and moved to Wi. NY taxes 3000 per year on 26 acres. moved to Wi in 1990 80 acres 800 per year taxes. Temperatures 10 degrees colder in winter the snow you get on the first day of hunting season is still there in April. They tax your pension in Wi. You can get a job there the day after you get there. I could have my job back if I went back even tho I am 70 now. My 2 sons and their families moved there too. The smart one still lives there. People ask me why I came back, I tell them "just plain stupid." In 1990 Wi was #4 in taxes NY was #1 I'll tell you there was a big difference between #1 and#4. Most things were cheaper there I still stock up when I go out there. I lived right in the center of Wi.
