Ours had a thick solid rubber seat with no backrest when we bought it. We really do like the seat we added - because we mow for several hours at a time to get it all done.
Nice loading ramps you have. My dad had some made out of 2x6 planks...one broke once. Thankfully he was still pretty low on the ramps or it could have been nasty.
