Type in GM piston slap, I had a 2000 2500 with the 6L, noisy hot and cold almost from the start, traded it for a 01 2500 HD with 6 L, same problem. Took the o1 in and told them I had heard they were replacing noisy engines. Salesman said he dind"t know anything about it, printed off about a 1/4 in thick of pages about it, took it in, salesman called someone int the office, told me someone would be calling me to bring it in. Next day service dept. called, said to drop it off the night before so they could check it out. Called before I went to work and told me they ordered a new engine. Have 90,000 on the new engine and still quiet as new.
