LOL we actually drove out on the lake a little to take some of those photos where MN 18 cuts back to the east. The rest were shot on the north shore. Went to Pine City to drop our son off there, his gun smith classes start again next week.
They plow roads on a lot of lakes up here. Our first winter here in 71 we lived on lake Osakis. I watched the city plow go across the lake while eating breakfast before school. That was the first time I ever saw anyone drive on the ice.
Heck they even ice race. If I can (major storm headed here) I'll try to get a few pics of that and post it. I had a friend up here before I retired from the Army. He took some vid of ice racing and when we got back to Ft Riley and I think he showed that tape to every one in the unit while telling him that all people from MN were crazy or stupid.
