Don't ever think you're safe behind me because I'm doing a buck 30 and I'll get caught first. I probably won't... Locally... I know where most of the speed traps are... and I keep a pretty strenous lookout for cops when I'm traveling that speed... and generally see them about the same time they get a visual on me. I pile on the binders and get down to 100-110... while you're still doing 130... guess who gets the ticket?

More often than not these days I keep it in the 110-120 range simply because gas is the ticket that keeps on giving. I used to do a lot of 140-150-170 kind of driving when the mood struck me... but for 50K over... in NS they now call that 'stunting'. For such grevious crimes they impound the vehicle on the spot for a period of 7 days and your licence is suspended for an equal period along with a $2400 fine. 'Stunting' here is now worse than murder and given a higher priority as well. Every time they hook some poor ba$tard it's all over the news for 3 days. There's been a few people hooked test driving new Camaro's and such things too... those are funny.

For the most part tho... it's a while since I had a ticket for speeding. Probably 15 years. Had a couple for failing to obey traffic signs tho... That's the prick ticket. He could have let you go but won't...

Today's Featured Article - Show Coverage: Godfrey, Illinois Country Days - by Cindy Ladage. Except for last fourth of July's Old Gold show in Springfield, Illinois, I don't remember when it was so hot. Nevertheless, the heat didn't keep vendors and visitors alike from enjoying the third annual Country Day's Event. Jane Elliott said the event was originally a one man show. "Barry Seiler, owner of Country Town Farm Supply store used to invite people up to the Johne Deere store. He would give hats and a free meal for everyone that brings a tractor." Elliott said while this ... [Read Article]
