I've been selling on ebay for over 11 yrs. A person cannot bid on their own item. Ebay can detect the IP address of the computer(s) so it doesn't matter if you have a different ebay user name or not. When you register with ebay you need a credit card and mailing address so it makes it a little more difficult for a person to be able to bid on their own item. I'm not saying it can't be done some how but I wouldn't think it's worth the hassle. There are those people that buy tractors that know little about and don't know new parts may be available for them still. Co-workers and friends tell them go to ebay you'll find it. If you've been around tractors for a long time you'll know a deal when you see it or if it's fair. I use auction sniper dot com when I want to bid on something. They do the bidding for you up to the last second. It's come in handy many times for me.
