I have a 97 Dakota, v-6. A week ago, I put new spark plugs in it, it needed them! A few days later, I noticed that when driving to work it would cut out for just a second and pick right back up. It would do this 3 or 4 times in a 10 mile drive. Last night, I drove around town after work running some errands, and it died on me. I coasted off the road and let it set for 5 minutes or so and it started right up, ran good. I stopped at the auto parts store and bought a new pickup coil? for the distributor. Stopped at the neighbors heated shop and we put it in. When we got the cap off, it had been arking around some on the inside and the terminals were coroded some. Back to town and got a new distributor cap and rotor and put it in. Runs great! Tonite I was coming home from work, and just as I pulled in the driveway, it died again. Tried it, and it turned over but no start. I got out and got the mail, got back in and tried it again, poped right off, ran good, so I pulled up the driveway and shut it off. Any ideas what to check next??? It has about 150,000 miles on it. Thanks, Chris
