I have some Handis; nice rifles for the money. I like the kind of old-time, single shot design. They are easy to carry. In fact, my current deer hunting rig is a Handi 45/70. Most of our deer around here is woods and margins of fields and brush lots. This is ideal for me because as I get older, I like simple handy, light and easy to carry.
But a Handi in .243? I kind of keep up on the Handi-Rifle stuff and just about the only complaints I hear about Handis are the ones in .243.
As much as I like Handis, I think that for not much more money one can get a bolt action like the Ruger American and I guess Remington is coming out with a rifle to compete in this market.
