Probably Locus Beetle. Locus Beetle boers into the firewood especially Mesquite here. They lay eggs and hatch when you bring them into the house. Someone on this Forum suggested vinegar and dish soap. They were all over my fresh cut wood this fall. I sprayed the wood with 1 gal. of water, 1 cup of 20% vinegar, 1 table spoon of dish soap. They disappeared over night and I have not had any in the house this year. you have to spray when the wood is fresh cut before they lay eggs.
