After considerable checking, they (Farm Journal) found that 7 of 8 tractors were at the Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson so the picture was taken at a nearby shopping center parking lot. The eighth tractor had to be trucked in for the photo. Each company representive was asked if they could not only furnish a tractor for the photo but a driver as well. All said they could. Officials at the fair agreed to let the tractors leave the exhibits for most of the day. The Kansas Highway Patrol convoyed the tractors to the picture taking site. Service men from Firestone, Goodyear and Goodrich went to work cleaning muddy tires while the drivers put on new white coveralls. A hydraulic ladder was provided by a tree service company to get the arial shot.
