I have a JD 410 J and it will do just about anything I have ever needed work wise. When it is not big enough a JD 510 would not be big enough either.
I drove and used both before I bought the one I now have. The JD 510 mainly seemed to just have a bigger hoe attachment. More reach with a longer boom. It seemed to be more tail heavy than the JD 410 did. Where I felt the difference was when using the front end loader. The JD 510 would not hardly put any down force on the bucket without tipping back. The JD 410 seemed to be better balanced to me.
