Shearing is not that "Itchy", at least with the proper breeds. Wool quality has to do with diameter of the fiber - finer is less itchy. We raise Shetlands. Shearing is however, hard work. Catching them, dragging them to the shearing platform, subdueing them, standing them on their butt while cutting the wooldown... and those clipper machines are not light!
