I always enjoyed Stompin Tom's songs. Simple words and melodys that anyone could sing and strum along with. Tom went into a self inposed exile of sorts in 1978 , to protest the lack of Canadian made music on Canadian radio. His good old down home/country style music, didn't resound with the so called urban culture, that everyonr was so quick to embrace in the 60's and 70's. Like so many of the folks on this site, I always like the sound of the fiddle and guitar kinda sound, that you would hear at a local communty dance when I was a kid. Just a few good ol boys from the neighbourhood, that could play a bit, and would do some tunes for fun. Now everyone must have an DJ or pro entertainment, and it isn't realy any better. Tom Conners, wrote songs about people and places he had met, or seen. A true original. Bruce
