I would not own a backhoe without a cab myself. The modern cabs do not block your view very much. The entire back window rolls up into the top. Mine has heat and AC. Also when you go to sell it you will find one with a cab and heat/AC will sell much quicker.
It is much nicer on real hot days and cold ones. I am getting soft in my old age. LOL
