Can somebody tell me how this debit system works down there? The way I understand it, you just swipe the card and it either apporves or doesn't. My gut tells me nobody would be that stupid, walk around with a card that hass access to thousands with no fraud protection. Do you have to sign the receipt? Do they compare signatures? Are there PIN #'s? I can understand why someone might dislike debit cards if it's a simple swipe with no protection.
