I too married my "prom queen". Lasted 48 years and she passed on with a heart attack a couple years ago. The memories are there but I am moving on with my life. Same thing I would have wanted her to do. Hard to restart after that long with one person but it's coming along.

The "proof of the pudding" as the saying goes is on the tail end when the glamor and flashing lights are gone. That where the real test is.
