In regards to the bolt leaking in the rear axle, if you drain the fluid and pull the axle off you will get the to the nut on the back side. Given that it has probably been loose for a while, I would replace it with a new one. When you install it make sure you either use an impact wrench or have somebody tap hard on the outside while you tighten the inside. I "hand" tightened one and it still leaks, but so little that it is insignificant. Not a hard project, just a little time consuming. The Ford forum has lots of good info also.
