If neighbors have alfalfa that would be a good place to ask for tips. Up here when it reaches 10% blossom it needs a swather in it. Any later it gets rank and woody fast. Earlier is good for a higher protein level but harder to cure down. I used to put up a half section of alfalfa. Some was put up right and some wasn't. I sold some and fed some.
