Maybe go to the JD forum and check archives. JD made a couple mounted plows for the Bs, As. One rig is a 2 way with right and left sides/plowshares- used one at a time for a up and back plowing pattern instead of around the land pattern and is real handy for gardens- think the JD forum has a thread with pictures of the rig in action. Single share rigs also made- and the 1-18 likely this kind. Front pulling tongue is mounted sort of like the AC snap coupler location in front of axle line and low- hit a big rock and you"ll stop but won"t flip backwards. One of early Ferguson designs for the "Auto plow" was mounted same way- single pulling stress low mounted, 1 or 2 upper lift and alignment mounts and in the case of JD the lift arms are in right area to use for single or double rigs. Mounted plow has advantages- like can lift sitting still and back up instead of having to be going forward so wheel lift clutch works and hard to back up a trailer plow, one reason the gardeners like them.
