We have a Tucker SnoCat with a 5.9 cummins for getting around in the back country in the winter. My uncle serviced it one fall, and being a doctor, not a farmer, just got 10-40 gasoline engine oil, instead of diesel rated oil. I started using after the snow flew, and would only make about 15 psi oil pressure. After it warmed up, the oil pressure would drop to near zero at idle. Couldn't figure it out. Engine only has about 2k hours on it... Looked in the basement and saw the partial case of GASOLINE engine oil AH HA! Brought up a few gallons of Delo 15-40 and changed it out. Oil pressure went to near 50 running and only dropped to 15 after it idled down. So I have a tough time believing that everything was just fine running that gasoline oil in working tractors...
