I dont buy the low wage bit.I got laid off and was glad to work haying for a buck an hour in the early 60s.A man does what ever job he can get to provide for his family.Low wages beats no wages every time.My first job paid 85 cents an hour,Union shop.Did a lot of farm work picking eggs,feeding hens,loading manure in to a spreader in dairy barns.In 1967 I was getting 2 bucks an hour fixing TVs and appliances.Local telephone workers were getting 1.85 per hour. Inflation has made 8.00 bucks an hour a low wage but 320.00 a week aint bad.I wish SS paid that much.My grand children have better educations and will get much better pay..One grandaughter will get 23.00 an hour on a summer job.She still has 2 years of college left.Another grandaughter has one year of tech school studying accounting.She worked at Starbucks serving coffee.She just got a better job at a trailer sales shop. She will do the accounting,act as a receptionist and go for lunch for the crew.Oldest grand son has a Masters degree.He worked in a pizza shop nights during college.The people who think they are too good to work at a low pay job will fail.Oldest grandaughter worked as a waitress summers.
