Tom, plant them along the north side of a house or barn where they will get very little if any direct sunlight. They do not like direct sunlight in the south. They like some manure mixed into the soil, and they need a lot of watering in the summer. I"ve got a whole row along my shop and they"re doing great. It will be picking time in 2 weeks.

And if you drive an old tractor past them once in awhile, they seem to grow better.
