We have a JD 2240 early serial number break. No Hi/Lo. The problem we've encountered is that we lose hydraulic pressure at the main pump test port. We ran for 20 minutes watching the pressure and it stayed fairly constant. It dropped to 1500 psi when operating the rock shaft and dropped even more when operating the power steering. It acts as though the transmission pump may not be keeping the main pump charged. When we the auxiliary tank above the main pump goes dry, the pump totally loses pressure. We had it running for awhile without operating anything on the hydraulic system and it eventually went to zero psi. We've flushed the system, replaced filters, cleaned each screen and still have issues. I don't really know where to look. We have the most major pressure fluctuations when we operate the steering. It can act as if we just opened the line totally up and dumped all the pressure in the system. Any ideas?

When dealing with thinner metals like sheet tin, a long bolt and
