We have a 3000 head dairy close and they used corn silage with other rations. They come early with Claus cutters and cut about 500+ acres and come back later and finish. They just pack stacks on concrete. It is so green that the juice was running down a waterway that the trucks were using. A truck got stuck in it. Last year in the dry year, he was 300 acres short. I think he has bought that much or more ground this year. We filled upright silos or bunkers and waited until the shucks started to turn brown. The best machine we ever had was a Fox 2 row. The good old days!!
