I noticed the prices of parts for that mower have risen tremendously the past few years. I think its to encourage you to buy a new mower rather than repair the old. Parts for the New Holland 411 (same Kuhn cutterbar) are cheaper but not by a lot. Later model Deere have a shearhub, the splines of the hub shear to limit damage. Still a 70 or 80 dollar part the last I looked. No reason it couldn't be designed with an inexpensive shearpin instead.
