Over the years I tried just about everything out there and none over it really worked that good. So I started trying different blends and came up with one that really works good and is inexpencive to make. Take a gallon paint can with lid and add about a quart of good 30W chain and bar oil and add 1 tube of grease to it. With a drill with a paint stir on it start blending it and adding more chain and bar oil (more oil for winter and less oil for the summer) you want it thick but pourable. I pour this into old 80W/90W quart bottles so I can apply it to chains easy.
As with any lube you use the best time to apply it before using the machine and just after you are done for the day while the chains are still warm, A warm chain will draw in what ever lube you use right in to it has it cools down.
