For it's day,the Hesston PT10 was a decent mower/conditioner. Had a next door neighbor who had the very first haybine around here. This was before the Hesstons had a dealer around here, but they said they tried out everything available at the time, bought a New Holland because when they tried out all of them, the New Holland was the only one that didn't spit out a big wad of hay when they first started in at the end of the swath after turning around on the end. It left a smooth swath right from the start.
As far as square balers, even the hard core Deere guys usually ran New Holland balers.
