Rad flushed with what? When filling the cooling system, mix the antifreeze with distilled water. Tap water contains minerals that leaves an insulating thermal layer on the coolant heat exchanger surfaces. Pull the hood and nose cone. You will be surprised how plugged the rad core fins are with oily mud. Don't waste you time trying to dab away at the job from the side access screens. Don't bend the fins either with too much water or air.
