Yesterday, I was walking down the street in my hometown (Seward, NE) to join my wife and some friends to watch the July 4th parade.
The Chief of Police pulled up beside me in a golf cart and said, "Hop in, I'll give you a ride". So I hopped in and we drove down the street, mostly commenting on a beautifully restored '56 T-Bird in front of us.
The Chief dropped me off in front of my wife, friends, and a bunch of other people, did a u-turn with the cart, pointed back at me and yelled, "From now on, you behave yourself!". He then drove off, laughing his tail off.
Actually, he's probably been waiting for a chance to do something like that for a couple of years, ever since I wrote a newpaper article rebutting some comments he and the County Sheriff made against concealed carry.
