My grandparents both died within 3 months of each other, in 2008. They married in 1940. My mom did all their banking, getting the mail, setting them up in an assisted living, went to see them every week. I think they were both 89 when they died. Both her brothers (my uncles) did little to help. My mom ended up sending her 1 brother a long nasty letter telling him what an A-hole he is for all the years back, even when they were kids. (I didn't agree with sending that)
