Allan, Did you get all your alfalfa baled and secure? Hope your disk withstands the rock impacts. A rock pile would really stand out like a sore finger in your field ;-)
Here, in The Netherlands, our alfalfa yielded three cuts in a good year (40 years ago). It was never baled as hay. Instead, it was dried in a large (coop) drying facility and then ground or pelletized for sale as specialty feed. It is still being done, although on a much smaller scale because of the (energy) cost.
