#1 lets get you term correct. Cranks means the engine turns over when you hit the start switch. Runs is when it does in fact fire up and you can drive it be it only a foot but still it ran. There is no fuel purge on that tractor it is gas not diesel. First thing to check is do you have spark. Pull the center wire off the distributor cap and hold it about a 1/4 inch from the block. spin the engine over with the ignition on. You should see a good blue/white spark that jumps a 1/4 inch gap or more. . No spark means the point need cleaned or replaced. Next on the bottom of the carb is a drain plug which is a simple pipe plug. Remove it if you have spark and make sure you have a good steady flow of gas for a few minutes. Catch the gas so as to look for water/dirt etc and then post back what you find
