Maybe one of you guys or gals would know who to contact to get my address changed in the database the phone books use. When our county started the 911 address system 20 years ago or so our address number was 49010. A couple three years later they had to change the number system to match up with neighboring counties so they changed it to 4950. Of course the post office told me to notify all publishers of the address change. Went through three address changes before that and I've lived here all my life so I finally just quit notifying anyone of the changes. We're in small town rural Iowa where the post office people know everyone anyway. We get three different phone books from three different companies and all of them have the wrong number.
Anyway, our address number is now 4950 and has been for the past maybe fifteen years, but the phone books all list it as 49010 and we are still receiving some mail with the 49010 address from people using the phone book to get our address. So my question is- who do I contact to get this corrected? Who has the database the phone books use to get addresses? A simple phone call or email could solve it but I've never found out who to contact. Jim
