not a lever you push the left brake pedal down and then pull up a t handle by where you right foot normally is at to lock the brake pedal down. you then tap the brake pedal to release the lock also you can rotate the t handle after pulling it up and it will not drop until you rotate it back and tap the brakes you should lock both brake pedals together first with the sliding rod on the pedals you need to push the clutch down even farther than you are now to engage the slasher(PTO)without grinding gears
