It was like that when I got it so even after I oiled it it did not help any. Once bent they never work the same unless you add the braces to them. Fixed more then one of them old hoods over the years and figure I can live with it like it is. Truck only gets used in weather like this or for farm stuff so maybe 500 miles a year if that
