A nice over ripe banana usually works in a hav a hart trap. I have one here under the porch, he's gotten wise to it, I'm not sure if the darned trap has such a hair trigger now, its an old hav a hart, and has worked well in the past, just not this guy. I can watch him out the window, but can't get a shot at him. Whats funny is, the placed is trimmed, lawn cut short, and he's prevented from, foraging quite a bit, so he has to come out, I'd have to use a conibear to get him now, and theres another across the driveway who wants to compete with him for the spot under the porch, now him I set some old bananas on a 6x6 timber that I can see through a nice hole in the shrubbery, the 22 wmr will take care of that one soon, the burrow he dug a much larger animal could probably live in.
You could put a lush potted plant nearby, something they like, and a staked off leg grab in an appropriate place, that works well too.
I have poured gasoline down the hole, and covered it up, it don't smell at all, and no other ones will use that den, so you can fill it in.
As much as I like them as a species, being over run with these 'chucks is a pain to deal with, pressuring my garden at times, or digging burrows that could break a leg, I've shot, trapped, and or fumed em, 7 last year, and a few got relocated so, I think I've been as fair as its going to get, learned a few things too LOL !

"Barry Seiler, owner of Country Town Farm Supply store used to invite people up to the Johne Deere store. He would give hats and a free meal for everyone that brings a tractor."
