In the small tractors both are utility series. The swept back front axle seems far more common in the 74's than the 84's though. Lots of variations, I've seen the 584 with the low profile axle and smaller tires but almost all of them here are 16.9x30 rears. The 584's all seem to have narrow front rims while the newer 585's often came with big rims and wide tires.
Never figured out the cut off year for the clunky slot style shifter, the 584 we have borrowed now has it, our old 584 had an automotive style which I presume is newer.
