Charging voltage is the key. If you throw a 30 amp charge into a battery you can easily exceed a proper charging voltage so you need to monitor it while charging. Yes, a 6 amp charge will take a long time but if you leave it on it will get the job done. Remember, a 100 ampere hour battery, stone dead would take 100 hours to charge at 1 amp charge if charging was 100 percent efficient which it is not. I bought a 6 amp charger in 1965 and still use it a lot. I have very good battery life in all my vehicles.
