It's been about 6 years since I bought one in Canada and brought it over. I had spoken with a lot of folks before hand, so I knew there was really nothing that needed to be done. I did be sure to get a bill of sale, just to be on the safe side. Once I got to the crossing, the border agent was a real gem. He kept asking for paper work that shows it meets emissions. I kept telling him that it's a 1951 model, made in the US, so no worries. He didn't get that, so he went to his supervisors station. When he came back, he said it'll be $5,000, of course he was joking, but I didn't know that, as I was in complete shock. Once I was aware of the joke, I was on my way with no further hassle.
