Gators have always had a high idle issue. You just POP the gear shifter in. DO not shift it slow. They will live for jsut about ever POPing them in. You baby it and shift it slow/grinding and it will tear up in a short period of time.
The owners that have the most trouble with Gators running are OLD guys LOL. They where designed to be USED and USED hard. You baby them around and they never run right.
Neighbor has had different ones now for 15 years. The first ten years he drove me nuts keeping it running right. 9 times out of 10 it was related to him Putting around in it. HE never would open it up and burn the carbon out of everything. I changed more spark plugs and clean the muffler out all of the time. Now he has Grand kids that are big enough to run his Gator. He has very few problmes now with it. They run the SNOT out of it and it runs better.
