I've camped most of my life (53 now) and have many different tents over the years. If you're just going to 'try it out' and 'see if they like it', then a Wal*Mart tent would be the way to go. They are cheap and disposable (and will probably not keep you dry in a good rain storm). However, if you already know that this is going to be a 'thing' and you'll go camping a couple times (or more) a year, then I have to recommend Eureka as a brand of tent that I've settled on. I've had at least 6 different tents made by them and currently own three (different sizes). They've always kept me dry even in the most absurd conditions. I do not insist that they are better than any other tent brand. I only insist that I think they are excellent examples of today's tent technology.
